This windmill is one of many in my Villege. Is my favorite since I always was able to see it from my window when I was child...

The entrance of the Holy Cross Monastery

It is located two kilometers Southeast of the village of Mavratzeoi next to the road and on altitude of 200 meters. In 1582, monk Neilos has founded a small church and in 1604 he and his brother Dionysios expanded it. There are frescoes, a magnificent woodcut temple and a lot of holly ware.

Heraion Samos

The Heraion of Samos was a great sanctuary in the southern region of Samos, 6 km southwest of the ancient city, in a low, marshy river basin near the sea. The Late Archaic Heraion of Samos was the first of the gigantic free-standing Ionic temples, but its predecessors at this site reached back to the Geometric Period of the 8th century BC,[1] or earlier.[2] The site of temple's ruins, with its sole standing column, was designated a joint UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the nearby Pythagoreion in 1992. Τι είδε αυτό το παράθυρο;

Είδε δυο σκληροτράχηλους ανθρώπους να πιάνουν τη ζωή και να τη στίβουν σαν λεμόνι.
Όταν παντρέυτηκαν το ΄25, ο Μήτσος το πρώτο βράδυ κιόλας έβγαλε μια κάμα δυό σπιθαμές που την είχε φέρει από τη μικρασιατική εκστρατεία και είπε στη Θεοδοσία... ΄΄τη βλέπεις; μαυτή θα σε σφάξω αν δεν μ΄ ακούς΄΄....

Την άλλη μέρα το πρωί σαν ξύπνησε ο Μήτσος...βρήκε την κάμα δίπλα του σπασμένη σε τρία κομμάτια...

Είδε τρία αγόρια και μια κόρη το παράθυρο να μεγαλώνουν να χαίρονται και να υποφέρουν..

Είδε την κατοχή...τους πεινασμένους να περνάν και να ζητιανεύουν για ένα κομμάτι ψωμί...

Είδε τους Ιταλούς φασίστες να σπάνε για πλάκα το πιθάρι με το πετιμέζι που θα κράταγε ζωντανή την οικογένεια εκείνες τις δύσκολες μέρες...

Είδε του Ιταλούς αντιφασίστες να ψάχνουν τα παιδιά κάτω από τα κρεβάτια, για να τα φιλέψουν μια σοκολάτα...

Είδε τους Ναζίδες να παίρνουν τα αγόρια όμηρους , αμούστακα παιδιά..

Είδε την απαελευθέρωση και το άγριο αντάρτικο που ξέσπασε αμέσως μετά...

Είδε αδερφό να σφάζει τον τραυματία αδερφό του που του ζήτησε βοήθεια..

Είδε να παίρνουν τους άντρες εξορία...

Είδε φωτιές να καταστρέφουν τη φύση γύρω του...

Είδε την εγκατάλειψη και το μαρασμό...

Αυτό το παράθυρο είδε την ιστορία της Ελλάδας...

Αυτό το παράθυρο είναι πραγματικό και υπάρχει ακόμα...

Aφιερωμένο στη μνήμη τους.

Chora, Samos Island

Chora is a scenic old big inland village, situated on the junction of the inland road network; it is found at a distance of 3 kilometers northwestern to Pythagorio, at the northeastern part of the homonymous plain, and some 13 kilometers southwestern to the capital town of Samos. Until 1854 this village was the capital of the island, while nowadays the area houses the airport of Samos.




Chora counts some 1500 permanent residents, the majority of them living mainly on tourism and to a lesser extent on agriculture. In the past the culture of tobacco used to be the most developed one, but after the World War II, it gradually declined.
