Glyfada lake Samos - Thats my World
This lake was made some hundred years ago by the people of Samos in order to collect the water from the springs above. The water is semi-salty and is used to give power to a wooden propela that moves the mills in a small water-mill to product some wheat flour.
Today its only a ruin, but very usefull place for water birds and fishes.
Samos houses III
In Vathy, capital of the island, Venetian houses are mixed to neoclassical ones and all the buildings have red-tiled roofs and some have their walls painted in bright colors. The narrow streets and stairs are also painted in white and blue and the walls of some houses are decorated with naive paintings

Samos houses
The architecture of Samos resemble to the architecture of the other North-Eastern Aegean Islands. Samos does not have a specific traditional architecture, mostly because of the heterogeneous descent of the population of the island. It is a blend of neoclassical mansions, Venetian buildings, whitewashed houses and Byzantine churches. Graphic narrow streets are winding around all those types of buildings, adding a warm and cozy touch to the whole scenery.

Cyclamen
Cyclamen is a genus of 23 species of flowering plants, traditionally classified in the family Primulaceae, but in recent years reclassified in the family Myrsinaceae (Kallersjo et al. 2000). The genus is most widely known by its scientific name Cyclamen being taken into common usage; other names occasionally used include sowbread and sometimes, confusingly, Persian violet (it is not related to the violets), or primrose (neither is it a primrose).
Cyclamen are native to the Mediterranean region from Spain east to Iran, and also in Northeast Africa in areas such as Somalia
