A way to respect nature...

A tree in the middle of the street? The answer is simply Yes!
The reason? Also very simple…the tree was there first and before the street…
So it has to be respected fron the humans.
Anyway the street is a small one and not realy busy, so the drivers can always be a bit careful and pass the tree with safety. This is also a way to respect the nature and not always to destroy without thinking first.

Gladiolus italicus

Gladiolus italicus is a species of gladiolus known by the common names Italian gladiolus, field gladiolus, and common sword-lily.
It is probably native to much of Eurasia, but it is well-known on other continents where it is a common
weed, particularly of cultivated fields and waste places. This perennial flower grows an erect stem approaching a meter in maximum height with a few long leaves around its base. Toward the top half of the generally unbranching stem is a spike inflorescence on which flowers appear at intervals. Each plant has up to 15 or 16 flowers. The flower is bright pink to magenta and several centimeters long with its stamens and style protruding from the throat। The fruit is a capsule about a centimeter long containing many seeds.

MONASTERY OF VIRGIN MARY (Megali Panagia)

It is located two kilometers Southeast of the village of Koumaradei and on the side of the road that leads to Miloi, in a very nice environment with an altitude of 225 meters. It has a lovely view of the plain of Chora, Pythagorio and the Asia Minor coast.
It was founded in 1586 the monks (and brothers as well) Neilos and Dionysios and it is dedicated to the Assumption. It has to show a very nice woodcut temple, some frescoes and a lot of holly ware
